Letters from Paul

privacy

Your privacy

Kept plain on purpose. Effective July 2026.

What we collect

Your email address (to create your account and send you letters, and the daily word if you subscribe), and what you write to Paul. We also keep the small amount of data needed to run the service: which letters you've read, a short distilled summary of your conversation so Paul can remember it, and email delivery events like bounces.

How Paul's letters are written — an AI

Paul's letters and the daily word are generated by an AI. When you write, your message is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to compose the reply. Please don't share anything you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI service.

Keeping you safe

Messages are automatically checked for signs that someone may be in crisis, so we can show real help resources right away. This is automated — no person is notified; it exists only to get help in front of you when it matters.

What we do — and don't — do with it

Your letters are private, visible only to you behind sign-in. We do not sell your data, and we don't share it except with the providers that make the service work: Anthropic (writes the letters), Resend (sends the email), and Fly.io (hosts the app). Each uses it only to provide their part.

Email & cookies

Every email has one-click unsubscribe; if an address bounces or reports spam, we stop sending to it. We use a single sign-in cookie to keep you logged in — no advertising or tracking cookies.

Keeping & deleting your data

We keep your account and letters so your correspondence stays continuous. Want it gone? Email us (below) and we'll delete your account and letters.

Children

This isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions? hello@lettersfrompaul.day.

Grace and peace to you.
